You might be found this quote somewhere else, quoted by another person — ’cause I thought that I’ve found this quote once (?) said by someone else too. So, rather than focus on the man behind the quote, I will focus on what the meaning of the quote. *I’ll do the research next time, Insyaallah.

Imam Syafi’i had been said in one of his Diwan (poem’s collection) that:

“everyone has their own fortune, either they work really hard or they just chill in on their chair".

The quote somehow has correlation with what Imam Syafi’i has said.

When everything has decided by God, there’s nothing can change it without His permission.

However, eventhough our fate and fortune had been decided, it doesn’t mean that we didn’t have to work hard, because “God doesn’t put it right in our nest".

We should work for it.
